We live in a place that has very hot summers and cold winters, thought this winter has been an especially cold one for us with many nights under 0˚C which is unusual. Due to this, our skin has been a lot dryer than normal. My sons and husbands hands started cracking as well as my sons feet. I had been using commercial hand soap, as I had run out of my homemade one and as soon as I switched to my DIY Natural hand soap, their hands started cleaning up. For my sons feet, I made this DIY cracked foot and heel balm.

This DIY Cracked Foot & Heel Balm is a great way to moisturise and help heal the cracks that can appear on our feet.

Cracked Foot & Heel Balm

Ingredients:

  • 40g shea butter
  • 40g beeswax
  • 100g coconut oil
  • 10 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 10 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
  • ¼ tsp Vitamin E oil

This DIY Cracked Foot & Heel Balm is a great way to moisturise and help heal the cracks that can appear on our feet.

frankincense essential oil – Frankincense helps protect, regenerate, and repair skin cells.  It has antiseptic, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties that may help speed healing of minor wounds, insect bites, and rashes.

lavender essential oil – Lavender helps improve blood circulation, is anti-inflammatory, calms and soothes skin, and provides temporary pain relief.

tea tree essential oil – Tea tree is great for skin healing and repair.  Its antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties work to relieve itching, redness, and inflammation.

For the best results, use daily.

Method:

Add the coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax to a microwavable glass jug or a double boiler.

Melt slowly, while stirring well.

Let cool slightly before adding the Essential oils and Vitamin E oil.

Mix well and pour into container. I poured some into lip gloss tubes as well as a container for easier application.

Cracked Foot & Heel Roll On

I also made this Cracked Foot and Heel Roller Bottle as well. For it, I placed:

  • 3 drops Oregano Essential Oil
  • 5 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
  • 5 drops Lemon Essential Oil
  • 5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

in a 10 ml roller bottle and topped with fractionated coconut oil.

Roll on morning and night and add socks.
