Jesus the Good Shepherd Story
The story of Jesus the Good Shepherd can be found in John 10:1-15.
Sheep are creatures that can fall over, but not be able to get up again by themselves. They tend to wander off and get lost. Without sharp claws or teeth, and unable to run very fast, they can’t protect themselves very well at all. Sheep need a shepherd to help look after them, to guide them, protect them and to help keep them safe.
This is why they need a shepherd to look after them. Someone to look after them, guide them and help them. A good shepherd is one who will lay down his life for his sheep.
Just like the sheep need a shepherd to look after them, we need Jesus to look after us. Jesus knows everything about us, looks after us and protects us. He even sacrificed His own life to save us, His flock.
In John 10:14, Jesus says “I am the good shepherd.”
