Tower of Babel Story
The story about the Tower of Babel can be found in Genesis 11:1-9.
After the flood, people began to forget about God.
They became very proud. They thought they were the best builders and wanted to show how great they were.
This pride led them to try and build a very tall tower. The people wanted to build a tower so tall that it reached the heavens.
God didn’t like their pride. He decided He had to put a stop to it.
So, He confused all the people’s languages. The people could no longer understand each other which made it impossible for them to work together to finish building the tower.
Work on the tower stopped and the city became known as Babel.
As the people couldn’t understand each other, they formed groups with others that had the same language as them and moved in different directions to build their own cities.
An important lesson can be learned from this story. People are not the best, God is!
