Jesus Walks on Water Story
The story of when Jesus walks on water can be found in Matthew 14:22-33.
In this story, Jesus has just asked His disciples to hop in a boat and sail to the other side while he was sending the multitudes away.
Once the multitudes were gone, Jesus spent some time alone, on a mountain praying before heading to meet the disciples.
Meanwhile, the boat that the disciples were in, was becoming distressed by the waves.
Suddenly, during the fourth watch of the night, the disciples saw someone heading in their direction. It appeared that this person was walking on the water.
The frightened disciples then heard the voice of Jesus. “Do not be afraid, it is I.”
Peter answered Jesus, “If it is you, bid me to come to you.”
“Come,” Jesus replied, and Peter began walking on the water to meet Jesus.
But, seeing the waves and the wind, Peter became frightened and began to sink.
Jesus helped Peter onto the boat, and the wind ceased.
