Homemade Playdough with Jell-O

Homemade Playdough with Jell-O

This fun playdough recipe is a great activity for children.

This recipe is for one, colour batch of playdough. If you want four different colours of playdough, you will need to create this recipe four times, using different coloured packets of Jell-O, eg. batch one blue, batch two purple etc.

To create this playdough, you will need:

  • 1 TBSP cream of tartar
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • ¼ cup salt
  • 2 TBSPS oil (vegetable)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (3 oz or 85 g) packet of Jell-O

To make this playdough,

First, combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan and whisk to blend.

Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook for 5 to 7 minutes while stirring constantly.

When the dough comes together like a ball, transfer the dough to a cutting board lined with baking paper.

When the dough is cool enough to touch, knead until it is smooth. This should take about 2 minutes.

Repeat for each colour of playdough that you want.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two months.
