Quick and Healthy Sandwich Fillings

When time is tight, it’s tempting to turn to the chilled cabinet and reach for a ready-made snack. But with money becoming increasingly tight and issues around the environmental disadvantages of plastic food packaging, people are increasingly rediscovering the benefits of making their own sandwiches. Producing home-made sandwiches can be fun, and it is easier to cater to allergies, likes, dislikes, and strange filling combinations.

Four easy to make sandwich filling recipes, guaranteed to brighten up any lunch-box or evening snack tray, are detailed below. Each recipe should make enough filling for two rounds of sandwiches or to fill two half baguettes.

2. Mix well with a fork – if mayonnaise is required, add it at this point and mix until all the ingredients are well combined.
3. Add freshly ground black pepper to taste.
4. Once the ingredients are well combined, divide the mixture between 2 slices of bread or baguettes.

Fresh Basil Leaves
