Caramel Popcorn
Who doesn’t love caramel sauce and popcorn? When you cover popcorn with a delicious, creamy sauce, you will satisfy the biggest of cravings.
Some people add extra ingredients, such as chopped nuts, chocolate pieces or even peanut butter candies to their caramel corn, though I prefer it more plain.
For a delicious salted caramel popcorn, add a pinch of pink Himalayan salt to the caramel sauce.
Making Caramel Popcorn
To make this delicious flavoured popcorn, you only need 8-9 cups of plain popcorn – already popped. I do this in my Instant Pot. You will also need some butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract and bicarbonate of soda. Salt is an optional extra, especially if you want to make salted caramel popcorn!
Once you boil the butter and brown sugar together for five minutes, then you add the vanilla extract and bi-carb soda.
To coat the popcorn, place it in a bowl and pour this syrup over the top. Gently mix the sauce through and then pour the popcorn out on a lined tray to cool, if you can wait that long!
To make this delicious popcorn extra crispy, try baking it in the oven.
After pouring the caramel popcorn on a lined tray to cool, place it in an oven instead. Heat the oven to 110ËšC (230ËšF) and bake, tossing the popcorn every five minutes for around 30 minutes. If you have added any extra ingredients such as the honey, or golden syrup, you may need to bake the popcorn for a little longer, around 30 to 45 minutes to make it nice and crispy.
