Strawberry Yoghurt Parfaits

Strawberry Yoghurt Parfaits

When you are looking for a relatively healthy breakfast that is quick and easy to make, try this simple strawberry yoghurt parfait that is tasty and so filling.

Perfect for busy mornings!

What are Parfaits?

A parfait is a layered dish that can be enjoyed either as a dessert or a breakfast. It typically features alternating layers of yogurt or whipped cream and fruit.

When prepared with sweeter ingredients, it is considered a dessert; when made with less sugar, healthier components, and often a crunchy element like granola, it is more commonly enjoyed as a nutritious breakfast.

Parfaits are usually served in a clear glass, allowing the distinct layers to be visually displayed.

Parfait Variations

Here are some different variations that could be used to suit you and your families tastes.

  • Use plain yoghurt instead of vanilla Greek yoghurt. To make plain yoghurt slightly sweeter, add 1 TBSP honey and 1 tsp vanilla into the 2 cups of plain yoghurt.
  • Use crushed nuts instead of granola
  • Try using chopped peaches or nectarines instead of strawberries
  • Make a berry yoghurt parfait by using a mixture of blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries
  • For a slightly sweeter taste, toss the berries with a small amount of caster sugar or icing mixture before adding to the parfait
  • Try using cookie crumbles such as digestive biscuits crumbed,  instead of the granola
  • Instead of the strawberry layer, try using lemon curd
  • Use a different type of yoghurt, such as coconut yoghurt
