Fruit Infused Coconut Water

Fruit Infused Coconut Water

Infused water not only looks extremely pretty, it also makes a lovely centrepiece for parties, pot luck dinners and family gatherings.

A great way to stay hydrated, this coconut water is so tasty, healthy and refreshing, it will have you coming back for more.

Making Fruit Infused Coconut Water

To make this delicious drink, fill a pitcher with equal amounts of coconut water and water. Add the fruit and herbs. Let chill and infuse for at least 30 minutes before serving. Enjoy poured in a glass with a few ice cubes.

Can Frozen Fruit be Used?

Yes, some frozen fruit can be used. Fruit such as frozen blackberries, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries can add flavour while keeping your water cold. In saying this, some frozen fruit decomposes easily and quite quickly in water, which can be unsightly, and it doesn’t give as much flavour as fresh fruit.

Can I Use Sparkling Water?

Yes, you can use any type of water, sparkling, regular or coconut.

Reusing The Fruit in Infused Water

You are able to re-use the fruit that has been used in your infused coconut water by adding water to the jug that you have just infused, though if you are making a new batch of infused water, I recommend using a fresh batch of fruit, otherwise the infused flavours won’t be as potent.

Eating the Fruit in Infused Water

Yes, you are able to eat the fruit, though it will be a little watery, especially if the fruit has been sitting in the water for a while.

Making Fruit Infused Water

For this fruit infused water (there are more recipes below!), I used:

  • 2 cups coconut water
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • ½ cup blueberries

To make this infused coconut water, fill a large jug or pitcher with the coconut water and water.

Cut the strawberries and pineapple into bite-sized pieces and add to the water.

Add the blueberries.

Place the jug or pitcher into the fridge for at least 30 minutes to chill and infuse.

To serve: Pour into glasses with a couple of cubes of ice.

This infused water will last for 2 days in the fridge.

If you add any citrus, such as lemon, orange, lime or grapefruit slices, try not to add too much of the white pith as it will make the water bitter.
