Drink using Lemon Syrup

Lemon Syrup

This delicious lemon infused syrup, also known as lemonade concentrate, adds a lovely flavour to desserts, drinks such as iced tea and lemonade, and more. With only a couple of ingredients, it is easy to make and it keeps for a long time as well! Just note that depending on what type of lemons you use, this syrup could be a little tangy – Meyer lemons make a sweeter simple syrup while Eureka lemons make a more tangy syrup.

If you love this syrup, you will also enjoy these delicious syrup recipes –  lime syrup, orange syrup, strawberry syrup, blueberry syrup, mulberry syrup, rosella syrup, and elderberry syrup.

How To Make this Simple Syrup

It is super easy to make this lemon syrup.

Add two cups of lemon juice to a saucepan with 2 TBSP of lemon zest (optional), 1 cup of water and 2 cups of white sugar.

Heat over medium heat and stir until the sugar has dissolved.

Bring the syrup to a boil, then take off the heat. This syrup will be quite thin. If you want a thicker consistency, simmer the syrup until it gets to the consistency that you want. Be careful not to let it burn.

To make lemonade with this syrup, mix 1 part of this lemon syrup with 3 to 4 parts of cold, sparkling water.

This lemon simple syrup can be stored in the fridge for a couple of weeks or in the freezer for up to six months.
