Homemade Lemon Sink Cleaner

Homemade Lemon Sink Cleaner

This powerful homemade lemon sink cleaner is a great way to cut the grease while giving your sink an abrasive skin, leaving it sparkling clean.

Ingredients for Making Lemon Sink Cleaner

To make around 300g or 10 ounces of this cleaner, you will need:

  • 1 Cup Bicarbonate of Soda
  • ½ TBSP Castile Soap
  • 4 TBSP Lemon Peel Powder or Lemon Zest
  • 30 Drops Lemon Essential Oil – optional

You can also make your own lemon peel powder to use in this recipe if you have lots of lemons.

Essential Oils

You can add a few drops of essential oils to this cleaner if you wish, though please remember that essential oils are potent, and need to be diluted.

Make sure to use essential oils that are gentle enough to be applied around the sink – and used in the correct quantities.

Just be careful using some essential oils such as tea tree and peppermint, around children and pregnant women, making sure to do your research before using.

Store in an airtight glass jar for up to 2 months.

Just remember that this cleaner has acidic ingredients in it, so I would avoid using it on certain items such as marble or natural stone.

Using Homemade Lemon Sink Cleaner

To use this cleaner, sprinkle some of the cleaner in your kitchen sink.

Scrub with water and a sponger.

For a deeper scrub, try scrubbing with a cut lemon.
