Candy Corn A – Z Mats
These fun mats are a great way to introduce young children to the uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet. Each mat is a full page and can be used in multiple ways. Depending on how you use them, they can also be a fun no-prep activity.
Once you have printed out all the pages, they could be:
- Use as is with children using a dot marker, bingo marker or paint and a q-tip to ‘colour’ in the uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet. They can then trace the world at the bottom, practicing reading and spelling it as they go and then colour in the picture.
- If laminated, children could use a dry erase marker to write the letters , drawing a line through the middle of the dots, or they could gently place a dot in each of the circles. Then they could trace the word and picture.
Once the mats have been completed, they could be held together with a ring binder or they could be made into a book by adding a fun cover which children have decorated and then bound or tied together with string.
