The Australian emu is a flightless bird that can run very quickly. They have long legs with 3 toes and thick drooping feathers. They live all over Australia and eat grass, flowers and seeds. The female lays dark green eggs in a 1 metre wide nest.

Kangaroos have big back legs that they use for hopping around on. They eat grass in the late afternoon or early morning when it is cool. They are marsupials. They use their tail for balance. A baby kangaroo is called a joey. A group of kangaroos is called a mob.
