Chamomile
Chamomile is a wonderful little herb with antibacterial properties that can help sooth irritated skin, relieving rashes, reduce redness and minimise scars and marks.
Note: For those that are allergic to ragweed there is a small chance that you may have an allergic reaction to chamomile as well. Make sure to spot test any products containing chamomile and avoid if any itching or allergic reaction occurs.
Chamomile Bath Powder
Bath powder or bath salts contain very similar ingredients to bath bombs, without the need to shape them in bath bomb mould and wait for them to set. Giving the same result, this is just a quicker and easier way to have the fun, calming bath experience.
How to Make Chamomile Bath Salts
To make around 4 to 8 ounces of bath salts, you will need:
- ½ cup chamomile flowers, dried
- ½ cup Epsom salts
- 10-15 drops of Chamomile Essential Oil (optional)
- Herb or Coffee Grinder
- 4 ounce jars
To make these salts, add the chamomile flowers and epsom salts to a herb or coffee grinder.
Grind until the mixture is powdered down and mixed through.
Add to a bowl and add the essential oils, if using and mix thoroughly.
Pour the bath salts into the container and add the lid.
To use: Add 1-3 tablespoons of bath salts to your bath under your running tap. These salts can also be used in for soaking feet.
If you have fresh chamomile flowers, you can use them, though you will need to dry the mixture after grinding it into a powder. Just spread the Epsom Salts and chamomile mix on a lined baking tray and let dry for about 24 hours.
Storing Chamomile Bath Salts
These salts needs to be stored in a sealed container. You can find some fun containers to put the powder in, just as long as they can be tightly sealed as you don’t want any moisture getting in.
This powder should keep for up to 3 months when stored correctly.
