Bacon cooked in the air fryer is my most favourite way of cooking bacon. It always turns out crispy and when added to asparagus, it is just so delicious. This air fryer bacon wrapped asparagus is easy to make and a delicious side.

Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

This delicious side dish of bacon wrapped asparagus is so easy to make. First, trim off the ends of the asparagus. An easy way to do this is to gently bending the end of the asparagus. It will naturally break the tough part off the end of the stem.

Lay the clean and trimmed asparagus on a lined baking tray. This makes it so much easier to season. Spray or drizzle with olive oil then season with salt and pepper. You could also sprinkle over a little garlic powder, or cayenne pepper as well.

To wrap the asparagus in bacon, I use about 2-3 spears for one piece of bacon, depending on the size of the spears. Smaller ones I added more, bigger ones less. You could use short cut bacon, but it is a little harder to keep wrapped around the asparagus. With rasher bacon, I cut one piece in half and used one of the pieces for the 2 spears of asparagus. The thinner bacon is preferable as it will crisp up better in a shorter amount of time.

Once wrapped, place in the air fryer basket. Don’t over crowd the basket as they won’t turn out as crispy. I prefer to do less at a time and do multiple batches.
