Puppy Story Puppets
To create these gorgeous puppies, you will need:
- coloured craft paper
- popsicle sticks
- black marker or pen
- craft glue
- pencil
- scissors
- Puppy Template
Instructions:
Download and print out the puppy template and cut out the patterns. The big patterns are for both mom and dad dogs and the little patterns are for the puppy.
Trace the patterns on coloured craft papers of your choice and cut them out.
Take the front body pattern and cut along the yellow line as shown in the template.
Take the belly cutout and slide it through the slits cut in previous step. Apply glue to attach the belly pattern with the front body pattern, between the slits and keeping the sides of the slits over the belly cutout.
Paste the inner ear cutouts into the middle of the main ear patterns.
Paste the front body pattern of the paper puppy puppet onto the back body pattern (marked in template); making sure to place the front body pattern right in the middle of the back body pattern.
Attach the head pattern on the top side of the front body pattern.
Attach the paper ear patterns on both sides of the head pattern. Attach the tail on either side but on the back side of the paper puppy.
Use a black marker to draw the eyes, nose and other details of the paper puppy puppet.
Lastly, attach the paper dog craft onto a popsicle stick. Repeat the process for each puppy that you are making.
Create a story and use your puppets to help you tell it.
