Native to Australia and New Guinea, Kookaburras are birds that belong to the kingfisher family. There is one species of kookaburra that is known as the laughing kookaburra as its call sounds like that of a person laughing. Kookaburra Life Cycle Printables
Living up to 20 years, kookaburras can reach a length of around 43 centimetres (17 inches), though some species are smaller. They all have a large head and a long bill that is dark coloured on the top and cream coloured underneath.
