This homemade cold and flu tea is a staple to have on hand during the cooler months of the year. Warm and comforting, this cold and flu tea is packed with herbs that help support the immune system while soothing cold and flu symptoms.

Containing elderberries, thyme, chamomile and ginger, this tea blend contains natural ingredients that help reduce the duration and severity of cold and flu symptoms, while soothing sore throats and nourishing the body.

Ingredients for Making Cold and Flu Tea

To make 2 cups of tea, you will need:

  • 2 tsps Dried Elderberries
  • 2 tsps Dried Thyme
  • 2 tsps Dried Chamomile
  • 2 tsps Dried Ginger
  • 2 Cups Water
  • Honey – as needed
  • Tea Cups or a Glass Jar

Making Cold and Flu Tea

To make this homemade cold and flu tea, bring the water to the boil.

Place the herbs into a glass jar.

Homemade Cold and Flu Tea pour over boiling water

Pour the boiling water over the herbs.

Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes.

Strain the tea and add honey to taste.

Sip the tea.

Using Cold and Flu Tea

Prepare the tea at the first signs of the symptoms of a cold or flu.

If using this tea to help young children, halve the steeping time and adjust the flavours, adding a little more honey or even a slice of lemon or orange to help with extra vitamin C.
