Materials Needed

These Winter Games Cards are a great way to introduce children to twelve different winter sports as well as other items that are found at the Winter Games. There are cards for the following:

Bobsled
Ice Hockey
Medals – males
Skiing
Speed Skating
Boy with Torch
Figure Skating
Medals – girls
Snowboarding
Curling
Biathlon
Cross country skiing
Luge
Skeleton
Ski jump
Winter Games
Torch
Gold Medal
Silver Medal
Bronze Medal

These cards come both in colour and in black and white.

I printed out our Winter Games cards on white paper and then laminated them. These cards can be used in a variety ways. Some of the ways we used them are:

as 3 part / vocabulary cards
in memory / matching games
once laminated, use a dry erase marker to trace the Games pictures to help with fine motor skills
as reference cards while looking at different Winter Games objects
as part of spelling practice
to increase vocabulary
