Whales are massive but elusive creatures that are thought to be one of the smartest animals in the world. They love to talk to each other through chirps or squeaks as they travel through the different oceans of the world. These printable whale cards are a great way to introduce kids to these fascinating mammals.

Kids will love learning about thirteen different species of whales with these sets fun whale cards ~ 3-part cards and information cards.

Materials Needed
  • white paper
  • printer
  • laminator
  • binder ring

Learning about whales is going to be so much fun with these whale cards. Included in this printable card pack are cards for thirteen different species of whale:

  • Baird’s beaked whale
  • Beluga whale
  • Blue whale
  • Dolphin
  • Killer whale ~ Orca
  • Bowhead whale
  • Fin whale
  • Gray whale
  • Minke whale
  • Narwhal
  • Pilot whale
  • Sei whale
  • Sperm whale

Kids will learn about how whales feed their young, rise to the surface to breathe air in and out through their ‘blowhole’. They will also learn about where each whale lives, what they eat and some special characteristics for each species of whale.

These cards come in colour and in black and white. You could print out the colour cards and laminate them for use or print out the black and white cards, have your child research the different whales and colour them in their correct colours before laminating them for use. The information cards could also be used for children to copy in copywork projects to help work on their handwriting while learning about a fun and interesting topic.
