Sea Shell Creatures

If you have any extra shells laying around and am looking for a fun activity for children, then you must try creating these sea shell creatures.

Sea Shell Creatures

Sea Shell Creatures

To make these fun creatures, you will need:

  • A hot glue gun
  • Googly Eyes
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Coloured Cardboard
  • Modelling Clay
  • Sea Shells

You can make any creatures that you want, using any materials that you want, though here is a couple that we made and how we did it.

Rabbit

To make a rabbit, we glued on coloured cardboard cut into different shapes and googly eyes. You could also use coloured craft foam it you had it too.

Spider

For the spider, we glued on googly eyes first. Then we glued pipe cleaner legs on the inside of the shell.

Crab

The crab is made the same way as the spider. It just has some pincers added to the front two legs.

Turtle

The turtle was made with pipe cleaners, goggly eyes and modelling clay for his head.

Snail

A snail with modelling clay and a shell and for the hiding creature, we glued the back of the shell together and used modelling clay for its eyes.

Clam

The clam was made from two shells stuck together with two balls of modelling clay. The black eyes were then drawn on with a pen.

Have you made anything with shells before?

What other creatures could you make?

I bought a packet of seashells that were already coloured from Riot Art and Craft.
