I found a couple of packets of shells in the cupboard and asked the boys what they thought we could use them for. They got really excited when they started talking about Sea Shell Creatures. This was a simple yet exciting activity. As we were making them, the other people were trying to guess what they were making.

Shell Creatures

What you need to make Sea Shell Creatures:

hot glue gun

goggly eyes

pipe cleaners

coloured foam or cardboard

Sea Shell Creatures

We made a rabbit by gluing on coloured foam and goggly eyes.

Sea Shell Creatures

A spider by gluing on goggly eyes and gluing pipe cleaner legs on the inside of the shell.

Shell Creatures 5

A turtle with pipe cleaners, goggly eyes and modelling clay for his head.

Sea Shell Creatures

A crab with pipe cleaners, foam, and goggly eyes.

Sea Shell Creatures

A snail with modelling clay and a shell and for the hiding creature, we glued the back of the shell together and used modelling clay for its eyes.

Have you made anything with shells before?

I would love to see them!

I bought a packet of seashells that were already coloured from Riot Art and Craft.
