Parts of speech is a skill that children need to know. Learning to identify, and correctly apply the parts of speech to their own writing is something that has to be taught. These free parts of speech posters provide a reference for children to use when learning this important skill.

  • The second page is an introduction to the eight parts of speech, which is good for children to read.
  • Nouns – What is a noun? Examples of nouns. Common noun, abstract noun, compound noun, count noun, proper noun, concrete noun, collective noun and non count noun
  • Pronouns – What is a pronoun? Examples of pronouns. Personal pronouns, indefinite pronouns, reflective pronouns, demonstrative pronouns, possessive pronouns, relative pronouns, intensive pronouns, interrogative pronouns.

Learning about the different parts of speech is fun with these fun posters. Included when you download is a poster for the eight parts of speech:

  • Nouns
  • Pronouns
  • Verbs
  • Adverbs
  • Adjectives
  • Prepositions
  • Conjunctions
  • Interjections

You could also print them half size, so that there are two posters per page. Then cut them out and laminated. Then connect them together with a binder ring for each child to have their own small book that they can refer to when they need.
