Nursery Rhyme Sorting Mats {3}

Nursery Rhyme Sorting Mats

Materials Needed
  • white paper
  • printer
  • laminator

Nursery Rhyme Sorting Mats {3} mat completed

To Prepare:

To prepare, print out all the pages on white paper or cardstock. For durability, I then recommend laminating them.

You could write the name of the Nursery Rhyme on the back of each card before laminating to make this activity a self-check one. For very young children, you could also place velcro dots on the spots on the Nursery Rhyme mats and on the back of the Nursery Rhyme cards.

Nursery Rhyme Sorting Mats {3} one mat and cards

To Use:

This activity is pretty straightforward. Have your child match the correct Nursery Rhyme objects onto the correct cards. For young children, start familiarising them with the Nursery Rhymes, one at a time. Read the name of the Nursery Rhymes while pointing to it on the mat.

As your child becomes better with their Nursery Rhymes, add another mat, using two then three at a time until they can use all the mats at once, sorting the Nursery Rhymes at once.

This Nursery Rhyme Poster Pack contains posters for ten popular nursery rhymes. They are:

  • Buckle My Shoe Printables
  • Little Miss Muffet Printables
  • Pat A Cake Printables
  • Sing A Song of Sixpence Printables
  • The Muffin Man Printables
  • Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe Printables
  • It’s Raining, It’s Pouring Printables
  • Star Light, Star Bright Printables
  • Wee Willie Winkie Printables
  • Little Boy Blue Printables

These Nursery Rhyme Posters and Easy Read Books pair well with this activity.

This pack also includes a black and white version for those kids who love to colour in.
