Ingredients for Making Hibiscus Cleansing Grains
To make around 14 ounces of these grains, you will need:
- ½ Cup Rose Hips
- ½ Cup Hibiscus Powder
- 6 TBSP Pink Kaolin Clay
- 6 TBSP Oats
- 2 x 4 Ounce Jars
The oats in this recipe can be replaced with oat flour and rose hip powder can be used instead of the rose hips. This would work well if you don’t have anything to grind in or if you just want to skip the grinding altogether.
Other powdered flowers that you could also try with this recipe include: Lavender, Calendula, and Chamomile.
Note: For those that are allergic to ragweed there is a small chance that you may have an allergic reaction to chamomile as well. Make sure to spot test any products containing chamomile and avoid if any itching or allergic reaction occurs.
Making Hibiscus Cleansing Grains
Place the oats into a food processor or blender and process to a very fine powder.
Add the rose hips to the oats and process until they are a fine powder too.
Add the hibiscus powder and the pink clay and mix well.
Pour the grains into a glass container.
Using Hibiscus Cleansing Grains
To use, place 1 teaspoon of the cleaning grains into the palm of your hand or a small bowl.
Slowly add water to create a thin paste.
Gently massage onto your face using a circular motion, making sure to avoid the delicate eye area.
Rinse off thoroughly and pat the skin dry.
Use up to 2 times a week.
