Made with lemon, ginger, and turmeric, these anti-inflammatory immunity shots are packed full of Vitamin C, antioxidants, and more to help boost the immune system, detoxify, aid digestion and relieve nausea.
Immunity Shots
With the lovely, earthy flavour of the turmeric, and the spicy taste of ginger and pepper, these immunity shots are a wonderful alternative to a morning orange juice.
Just to note, though I’m sure you already know, fresh turmeric can and will stain, so if you don’t want this to happen, then wear gloves while cutting it. Additionally, you may find that it stains your juicer or food processor as well. I find it eventually fades with use.
Immunity Shots Variations
- Any vegetables can be added to this shot, depending on your preference
- If you have fresh turmeric root, use it instead of turmeric powder
- Instead of honey, try another sweetener such as stevia
- Pepper is used to activate the turmeric. It is optional.
- The pulp that is strained out can be used in smoothies, muffins, bread or added to the compost.
- The amount of water can be decreased if you prefer.
- Oranges can be used instead of lemons or even a mixture of lemons and oranges
