Tim Tam Spread

Tim Tam Spread

Made with the iconic Arnott’s Tim Tam biscuits, this Tim Tam Spread is amazing when slathered on sandwiches, toast, waffles, scones or pancakes.

If you find that the spread is too thick, you can add a small amount of coconut oil or melted butter to help thin it out.

Using Tim Tam Spread

This spread tastes great on:

  • Sandwiches
  • Toast
  • Pancakes and Waffles
  • Scones
  • Used as a ganache type icing on cakes
  • Freeze small balls and use in the middle of cupcakes, muffins or biscuits
  • As a dip for fruit
  • Swirl it through homemade ice cream

Ingredients for Making Tim Tam Spread

To make around 2 cups of spread, you will need:

  • 1 Large pkt Original Tim Tams, or 2 of the smaller packets, just measure out to 365g
  • 1 ⅓  cups Pure Cream
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract, or
  • Pinch of Salt – optional

The vanilla extract adds a lovely flavour to the spread. If you prefer a less sweeter spread, add a pinch of salt instead of the vanilla extract.

Making Tim Tam Spread

Place the Tim Tams in a food processor and process until they are crushed.

Pour the crushed Tim Tams into a medium saucepan.

Pour in the cream and heat over low heat. Be careful not to burn the mixture as it may stick to the saucepan.

Stir continuously while heating. The biscuits will melt and combine with the cream into a smooth mixture.

Remove from the heat and mix through the vanilla extract or the pinch of salt.

Beat with a stick blender, or blender until the mixture is thick and silky smooth.

Pour into clean jars and let cool before adding the lids. The mixture will harden slightly as it cools down.

Store in the fridge for up to one week.
