We are very excited to share with you our review of this amazing website, Learning Palette. We received a full online family subscription to LearningPalette.com for up to 5 users. Learning Palette is an online math and reading curriculum produced by Learning Wrap Ups.

This amazing online program includes access to 55 titles of Math, for grades K-5 and Reading, for grades K-3.

Each of these 55 titles includes 12 lessons with 12 questions per lesson. This adds up to an amazing 660 lessons and 7,980 questions.

Learning Palette is a unique tool for learning and reviewing Math and Reading. Students are required to use a mouse to connect the correct coloured discs with the correct answer. The student’s work is corrected as they completed each card. You can also track their work and see their results.

The palettes are round in shape, like a clock, and have 12 wells, which have the answers next to them. The students read the questions from the middle of this round shape and choose the correct coloured disc (six solid and six donut shaped) that is next to the question and drag it into the well next to the correct answer. If you look at the following photos you will get an idea of how to use them.

How did we go?

When you first log in, you come to a screen that allows you to choose your subject, Maths or Reading, your level, your topic and then your card. Once you have chosen this, you are then taken to a screen with your first card.

On this screen, you can find the card instructions on the lower right hand side. Once you have completed this card, you can choose to go back to the main menu or continue onto the next card.

Learning Palette 1

Our boys usually completed all the 12 cards per topic in one sitting with the easier levels, sometimes completing 2-3 topics. As the levels started getting, they started taking more time to complete the cards.

Our boys started with the Math subject first and after completing a level (or two) in that, moved on to try the Reading cards. Now they are completing cards from both Math and Reading in each sitting.

Also, on the first screen when you log in, on the bottom left hand side there is a Progress Report button (see picture above). When you click on this, you can see the average score per card, the average time per card and the total number of cards that have been completed. Under these boxes, there is a list of the topic names, the cards and your child’s time per card. You can see our an early progress report for our youngest boy below.

Our boys have really enjoyed using this program. Though they are in Grades 2 and 4, they decided to start from the first level as this program was very different to anything they had ever done before and I wanted to make sure they knew exactly what to do. Once they knew how to answer the questions, they were really excited and completed the palettes quite quickly.

Learning Palette 2

This program used very bright colours, which our boys loved. There was no noise at all, so no music to distract them and there was no one telling them how to complete the cards which means you may have to sit with your child if they can not read or don’t understand how to complete the cards. As our boys are both able to read and understand what they were to do, I can leave them to complete the cards on their own.

We used this program 2-3 times a week, as the boys may find it getting a bit monotonous, if used too much. I like the way the menu shows what cards have been completed and if they were completed correctly.

I was quite impressed with the level of challenges and the straightforward way it was presented. This product is definitely a great way to help students reinforce Math and Reading common core concepts.
