Days 104-105
Today we left Perth and headed south-east to a small town of the Yarloop, near Harvey. Jenny’s Farm Stay is a quite, peaceful play to stay and for a very small cost.
On the way we stopped at a bakery. This is the first time on our whole trip that we have stopped at a bakery.
Situated in the small town of Pinjarra, this bakery was really quite big and the food was delicious!
Then it was off to Jenny’s Farm Stay.
We arrived around lunch and the boys were allowed to let the chooks out and collect the eggs. They found 3 eggs which we were allowed to keep. We ate the for tea that night on our yummy homemade burgers!
That night was very peaceful with no road noise, only the sounds of birds and insects.
Day 105
After a very wet night, we headed into Bunbury to see the wild dolphins. Even though the weather was really bad, we were hopeful of seeing some dolphins, but obviously they we busy doing other things as we saw none.
So we drove through the town, before heading out to Donneybrook.
We had heard of this amazing playground at Donnybrook and as we weren’t that far from it, we decided to let the boys have some fun and use up some of their energy.
There are lots of apple orchards around Donnybrook, hence the apple theme through the town.
Once we were in town, the boys were on the lookout for a massive playground. They were getting really keen to see this ‘biggest free playground in Australia.’
This place was awesome and I really recommend you take the time to visit if you are ever in the area!
There are also a few free bbqs, so you can bring your lunch and make a day of it!
After the boys wore themselves out, we headed out to Gnomesville. We didn’t tell the boys where we were going, so they were utterly surprised when we pulled up and there were thousands of gnomes all over the ground.
We had heard of this place, but not seen any pictures, so were not sure what to expect. We thought there were going to be a few gnomes on the side of the road, but we were so wrong. We walked nearly 1km down the side of the road, over a creek and beyond seeing thousands and thousands of these little garden gnomes. It was awesome!
After a busy day we headed home, only to be greeted by the owners of the property we were staying at, asking if our boys wanted to feed their 3 horses. Of course, the boys jumped at this opportunity!
Though the day started with heavy rain, it turned out to be a magnificent day but very exhausting. We all fell into bed that night and slept really well.
