If you missed the other parts of our Human Body Study, you can see them here: Human Body – Doctor’s Bag, Human Body ~ Body Parts, Human Body: Bones, Joints and Muscles, Senses, Cells, Heart, Blood and Circulation, Digestive System and Nutrition, the Brain and Nervous System, the Skin, Hair and Nails, the Immune System and Germs, the Respiratory System, the Excretory System, Reproduction System and Dental.

This week we have been talking about cells.

A great way to learn about cells is by making these fun cell models.

All organisms are made up of a single cell or multiple cells. Most of these cells are so small that you need a microscope to see them.  Cells are covered by a cell membrane and can come in many different shapes.

To show the boys what cells can be made from, we made an animal cell out of a cake,

Animal Cell

and a plant cell from jelly.

Plant cells are surrounded by a thick, rigid cell wall.

Amazing! We haven’t done any human cells in our lesson yet but this is worth pinning! Thank you for sharing 🙂
