Gumnut Olympic Ring Art

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my full disclosure policy.

Now here is a unique piece of art made with nature. With the Olympic Games coming up soon, we are getting into the spirit of things by learning about the Olympic Rings.

This gumnut Olympic Ring Art is a fun way to create a mini Olympic Ring Art deco for your wall.

Gumnut-Olympic-Ring-Art

For this piece of artwork your will need:

  • 5 large gumnuts
  • white cardboard or canvas
  • acrylic paint
  • small bowls or plastic lid

Place a small dab of acrylic paint into a small bowl or on a plastic lid. You will need blue, black, red, yellow and green.

Wipe the top of a gumnut with a tissue to make sure they are clean and then dip the first one into the blue paint, then stamp your gumnut onto your paper, card or canvas.

Use a different gumnut for each colour, so continue with a new gumnut for the black and red, making sure your rings are just touching each other.

When you have finished the top row of the rings, move onto the second row.

First, dab a gumnut into the yellow paint and then stamp it so that it joins with the blue and the black rings.

Next follow on with the green paint. Stamp this to the right of the yellow ring, so that it overlaps with the black and the red.

Repeat until you cover your page, let it dry and then hang your Gumnut Olympic Ring Art.
