Sometimes, I find that I have run out of oils and forgotten to purchase new ones. I know the new ones will only take a few days to arrive, but I don’t like to wait, so I make my own. A protecting blend such as Thieves or Germ Fighter is a powerful essential oil that is great for defending and protecting. It is an essential oil that I use for a lot of things, so I do go through it quite quickly.

In the 15th century, during the time of The Black Death, four spice merchants turned to thieving in order to sustain themselves. However, due to the Plague that was infecting anyone who came in close proximity with it, these thieves had to find a way to protect themselves before they could get anywhere near the weak and sick to rob them. They blended a few essential oils with medicinal ingredients and lived to tell their tale. After being caught by the King, they were given two choices: to be burned at the stake or to share their secret formula. Of course they chose the latter and due to its antibacterial, antiseptic, antiviral properties, variations of this blend are still being used today. It has been documented that this blend can kill up to 99% of airborne bacteria.
