Add the beeswax and shea butter to a microwave safe measuring jug or bowl. Something with a spout for pouring is best, and will help make the process less messy.
Gently heat for 30 second intervals, removing from the microwave and stirring between each heating session. Continue to do this until the beeswax is fully melted. It will take a few minutes.
Add sweet almond oil, then heat for an additional 30 seconds.
Carefully add the mica powder, if using, and the essential oil, and stir well.
Carefully pour the mixture into the moulds, and refrigerate for 1 hour to set.
Remove from moulds and store in an airtight container. When using the mould listed, this recipe makes 18 bars.
To Use - When ready to use, rub a lotion bar onto your hands to warm it up slightly and it will start to melt. Rub into your skin making sure the lotion is distributed all over.
Storing - Store in an airtight container, out of direct sunlight, in a cool room for up to one year. These lotion bars will stay solid, though they may start to melt in hot temperatures. If you are in a warmer climate, you may need to keep the bars in the fridge.
