Place the garlic and the mullein into a glass jar.
Cover with olive oil. Try to have as little air in the jar as possible. So, if you are making a small amount of ear oil, use a small jar. For a larger batch, use a larger jar.
Add the lid and let sit for 6 weeks. Try to remember to shake or turn over the mixture every few days.
When ready, strain the oil using a muslin cloth doubled over or a fine strainer. Make sure that no particles of the flowers or garlic pieces are left in the oil.
Pour the strained oil into a glass, amber dropper bottle.
Using Garlic Mullein Ear Oil
Gently warm the oil to body temperature by placing the bottle in a glass of hot water for a few minutes.
Then, have the person lay on their side with the affected ear facing upwards. Drop 1 to 2 drops into the affected ear.
Let them rest in this position for up to 10 minutes.
Then, hold a tissue to the ear or use a cotton ball to catch any excess oil that may come from the ear as they sit up.
Repeat 2 to 3 times a day.
Storing Garlic Mullein Ear Oil
Place the dropper bottle in a cool, dark place.
The oil should be at its best for around 12 months, though always check before using.
