Day 27
After an amazing time at Alice Springs, we headed towards Yulara. We had booked into the Ayers Rock Resort from the 12th to the 16th of June, so we had one night to spend somewhere on the way.
After fixing the broken fuse for our reversing camera (again), we headed off, stopping quickly to have a look at the Cannonball Memorial which was set up to remember the four guys that we killed there during the cannonball run in 1994.
While driving along, the boys spotted a rather big rock far off. This was not Ayers Rock as they first thought, but Mount Conner.
We were planning on staying at Curtain Springs, but when we got there, it wasn’t what we expected, so we decided to move on. We drove past a few more free camps and then eventually stopped at one about 8km from Yulara. In this free camp, we were hidden off the road and were able to park out van so that we could have views of Ayers Rock from our door.
