If you missed the other parts of our Human Body Study, you can see them here: Human Body – Doctor’s Bag, Human Body ~ Body Parts, Human Body: Bones, Joints and Muscles, Senses, Cells, Heart, Blood and Circulation, Digestive System and Nutrition, the Brain and Nervous System, the Skin, Hair and Nails, the Immune System and Germs, the Respiratory System, the Excretory System, Reproduction System and Dental.

We have (finally) started our human body unit. I have been meaning to do this for awhile now, but just haven’t gotten around to it. I found some human body books at an Op Shop and R found them and started reading them.

Human Body Body Parts

He loved reading them and kept asking to learn more, so I have finally started trying to getting everything organised and ready.

The first thing we did was learn about different parts of the body. This was just a general overview as we will get into more detail later.

Parts of the Body Cards

We used these {FREE} Parts of the Body Montessori Inspired Cards, though our boys already knew them, it was good to review them.

I also made some Human Body Systems Cards as well.

We made these awesome t-shirts from Ellen McHenrys. I taped the correct sized template to a piece of cardboard and then copied it through the shirt with a black marker. I clipped the sides of the shirt to the cardboard so that it wouldn’t move.

Below is a finished shirt. You could colour the different parts in different colours, but I like it black and white better.

I found this Parts of My Body Puzzle at a cheap shop which we completed many times.

I also found these foam puzzles at a cheap shop, which the boys really enjoyed. I have other puzzles like this for different parts of the body, but we will just them when we get to those parts.

The Human Body Puzzles

I purchased this My Body book from Currclick which used to make our Paper Human Body (pictured below). The templates were a little small for our boys, but we just left them as they were. You could enlarge them if you wanted too.

My Body

This is a great video all about the body!

I also have designed a small Human Body – My Body Pack.
