During our 147 day trip around Australia, we hitched and unhitched the van numerous times. We tried to stay connected as much as we could, especially at free camps, but sometimes we just had to unhitch.
Caravan Checklist
As we had never had a caravan before and really had no idea what we were doing, we made a checklist from the information provided to us when we picked up the van.
I found it easier to add this checklist to an app called Evernote that I have on my phone. The kids we then able to walk around with the phone, helping (and reminding) us what needed to be done.
Obviously with the amount and variety of vans around these days, the list for your van would likely be different from the list we use.
