7+ Curtain Ring Crafts

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my full disclosure policy.

I have been going through and doing a big clean out of all our school supplies, when I came across a bag of wooden curtain rings. The boys and I sat down and came up with a few craft ideas on what we could do with them.  Here are a few of the crafts ideas we came up with. Can you think of anymore?

Curtain Ring Crafts

First we made some ‘beachy’ themed decorations.

For these we wrapped raffia, white wool or strips of calico around the wooden rings, holding them in place with glue (hot glue gun). Then we glued on decorations. On some of them, we added a background, a cut out circle of decorated cardboard. You could also add a photo or a hand drawn picture.

Next, we made some dancing ribbons.

I purchased a pack of balloon ribbons from Target which we glued to the wooden ring.

The boys had a great time playing with these!

Rainbow Rings

I know Christmas is a few months away, but it will come quickly. We made this mini Christmas wreath by glueing tinsel onto the ring and then adding a decoration.

We also made a Christmas tree decoration. For this we glued ribbon around the ring and then added a bow and decoration.

Continuing on with our ‘beachy’ theme, we made some napkin ring holders. For this we wrapped the rings in strips of calico and then glued two rings together. Then we glued on some ribbon to add a bit of colour.

Napkin Rings

Then the boys decided we should made something to do with animals.

We made these octopuses by wrapping crepe paper around the rings and then glueing ribbon on for the tentacles, before adding eyes.

Octopus

And lastly, we made the rings into spiders webs. I found some web paper and we cut that out and glued it onto the back of the ring. Then we added a spider sticker.
