Place the eggs you want to boil in a fairly deep, microwaveable bowl or jug.
Add enough water to fully submerge the eggs and there is about ½ inch of water over the eggs.
Next, add the salt. Add ½ teaspoon of salt for each egg you have submerged in the bowl. DO NOT FORGET THIS STEP.
Microwave the eggs for 4 minutes.
Let the eggs sit in the bowl in the microwave for 1 minute.
Microwave the eggs again for an additional 3 to 4 minutes.
Fill another bowl with ice and water or really cold water.
If you soft eggs with runny yolks, let the eggs sit in the water for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. When the time is up for your eggs, remove them immediately with a slotted spoon and place in the ice water for 1 minute.
If you want medium boiled eggs, allow them to sit in the water for an additional 6 to 7 minutes. When the time is up for your eggs, remove them immediately with a slotted spoon and place in the ice water for 2 to 3 minutes.
If you want hard boiled eggs, allow the eggs to sit in the water for 8 to 10 minutes. When the time is up for your eggs, remove them immediately with a slotted spoon and place in the ice water and let them sit for up to 5 minutes.
Once removed from the ice water, the eggs will be ready to use.
* Just to note, remember that microwaves can vary, so you will need to experiment with your microwave as to the times that work best for your microwave. For this, I used an 1100 watt microwave.* The bowl will be hot, so handle with care.
