Kids love visiting the zoo, watching all the amazing animals there. They love getting up close to the animals, having a go at feeding and patting the animals. These zoo animal clip cards contain many animals that you will see at the zoo, and is aimed at kids in the 2-10 age bracket.
Check out the list of materials that we use with these printables.
Using Clip Cards
Clip cards which children will look at the picture and clip the correct answer with a peg or a paperclip. They could also place a pom pom, mini eraser or a counter on top of the correct answer.
To Prepare
To prepare these cards, first you will need to print them out on either white paper or cardstock. For durability, they can then be cut and laminated.
To hold these cards together, keep them in a zip lock bag or punch a hole in the top left hand corner and keep them together with a binder ring. This way they can be taken and used during outings, meetings and appointments.
To Use
Children will clip the correct answer of the chosen cards.
Zoo Animals Clip Cards
Included in this pack are both black and white and colour versions of all the clip cards. Children can enjoy colouring in the black and white copy before laminating to personalise their cards.
There are four cards per letter sized page. The cards included are:
- Beginning sound clip cards where your child can say the name of the animal and then clip the beginning sound/letter.
- Lowercase/Uppercase matching clip cards are great for learning to match the lowercase letters of the alphabet with the uppercase ones.
- The Count the syllables clip cards are great for those learning about syllables. Place you hand gently under the front of your throat and say the name of the animal. How many times does your hand move? This is the number of the syllables in each word.
- The vowel sound clip cards are missing the first vowel of each of the words. Work out the sound of the vowel and clip the answer.
- Practice counting with the count and clip cards. Count the number of animals on each card and then clip the answer.
- The simple addition and subtraction clip cards can be used to introduce your child to simple math sums or used as revision for those who have already learned.
