We were talking to my parents about having a holiday together, somewhere both of us could meet up, when we came across Woodgate. Though there is a Beach Tourist Park in Woodgate, we decided to rent a holiday house for out two families which worked out cheaper for all of us.
We arrived at Woodgate around the same time and picked up the key. We rented our property through First National Real Estate in Woodgate.
The house was absolutely amazing!
After unpacking we went for a walk to the beach. The great thing about Woodgate is that it is small and you can walk almost everywhere.
We came across this rock which the boys thought was very interesting. Woodgate only got power in 1960? The boys were surprised at this as they couldn’t imagine a time with power.
Woodgate is about 350 km north of Brisbane and has a massive 16km stretch of beach. There is also a national park here, with 4wd driving and you are also able to drive on the beach.
There is also a campground which does require a permit.
The boys favourite part was driving around in the afternoon and seeing all the kangaroos.
We were lucky enough to see a kangaroo have a go at a dog outside out house as well.
Boy are they big!!
We really enjoyed our time at Woodgate, it was so quiet and relaxing. We hope to go back there again some day.
