First published in 1978, this Roald Dahl book was illustrated by Quentin Blake and is a great book for young children. One day an enormous crocodile decides to leave the big, muddy river and heads off into the jungle. He meets with some other jungle animals, a hippo, an elephant, monkey and bird. He tells them that he is going to eat children for his lunch. These animals tell him how horrible that is and each time this crocodile uses his ‘clever tricks’ to try and eat the children, the animals swoop in and save the kids just in time. In the end, the elephant swings the crocodile around and around and sends him off into outer space.
