The Best Essential Oil Blends for Allergy Support

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my full disclosure policy.

Suffering from allergies is just that…suffering. They can be brutal! Allergies present themselves in many ways and with varying symptoms. Some people will have difficulty breathing while others might have a stuffy, runny nose or itchy, inflamed skin. Essential oils won’t cure allergies but they can provide symptom relief and help you to feel better. Spring is a popular time of year for seasonal allergies to flare and here are the best essential oil blends for allergy support for you.

These diffuser blends are my go-to’s for allergy support during the spring season.

Soothe: soothes throat irritation and that itchy, scratchy feeling

  • 2 drops Lemon essential oil
  • 2 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 1 drop Tea Tree essential oil

Quell: helps to quiet cough

  • 2 drops Frankincense essential oil
  • 2 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 1 drop Lemon essential oil
  • 1 drop Peppermint essential oil

Breathe Easy: opens up passages

  • 2 drops Patchouli essential oil
  • 1 drop Peppermint essential oil
  • 1 drop Eucalyptus essential oil

At Ease: quiets a hacking, dry, spastic cough

  • 2 drops Tea Tree essential oil
  • 2 drops Copaiba essential oil
  • 1 drop Blue Tansy essential oil
  • 1 drop Lavender essential oil

Eyebright: offers multi-symptom allergy support. It’s mild, comforting and clearing

  • 2 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops Cedarwood essential oil
  • 2 drops Roman Chamomile essential oil
  • 1 drop Lemon or Eucalyptus essential oil

The thing with allergies is you take them wherever you go, and because of that you need support when you’re on the move. That’s why roller bottles are so popular now. They are convenient and really help you get the most of your oils.

Here are my 5 favourite roller bottle blends for allergy support this spring, and any time of the year. Just add the essential oils and top up with your favourite carrier oil.

Bloom: protection against the elements, preventative, and smells great

  • 4 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 3 drops Marjoram essential oil
  • 2 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
  • 2 drops Clary Sage essential oil
  • 1 drop Lemon or Lime essential oil

Pick Up: energising blend, sinus support

  • 4 drops Peppermint essential oil
  • 3 drops Grapefruit essential oil
  • 1 drop Lemon essential oil
  • 1 drop Lime essential oil

Touch Up: skin soothing blend, reduce itchiness and redness

  • 6 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 4 drops Hawaiian Sandalwood essential oil
  • 2 drops Frankincense essential oil

Outdoors”y”: multi-symptom comfort and relief from common symptoms of outdoor allergens

  • 4 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 3 drops Ginger essential oil

‘tis the Season: powerful multi-symptom relief, fights fatigue and offers breath support. Daily allergy support blend

  • 3 drops Frankincense essential oil
  • 3 drops Orange essential oil
  • 2 drops Melissa essential oil
  • 2 drops Hawaiian Sandalwood essential oil
  • 1 drop Clary Sage (optional)

Note: Dilution is a MUST before applying directly to the skin. Using a 10mL roller bottle first put in essential oils then fill-up remaining with carrier oil. Cut recipe in half if using a smaller bottle. Check before using on children as some oils can’t be used on children under 10 years of age.

Though these are great essential oil blends for allergy support, for some people allergies are so severe, there is a high risk of death. Essential oils CANNOT replace medications and the precautions you need to take for severe allergies. Be safe, be smart.
