Story Boxes

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my full disclosure policy.

Our boys are really not interested in writing stories, though they love reading them.  So to help get them a little more interested, we made some Story Boxes.

They helped choose the topics for the stories and helped paint the match boxes.

Now they are quite excited about writing stories.

Story Match Boxes

To make these story match boxes, we painted some match boxes in different colours.

Then the boys chose their topics that they wanted to write about.

We then made accordion style booklets and glued the last page onto the bottom of the boxes.

On the top page, we glued the name of the topic.

Story Match Boxes 3

We then glued a picture on the front of the match box so we know what topic is in which box.

What ways have you used to try and get your children interested in writing?

How did they go?

This is such a cute idea! (And I instantly starting humming the Peppa Pig theme song in my head!)
