Yesterday we went to Somerset Dam to see the water from all the recent rain. It was great to see and the boys loved it. There weren’t many people here compared to the Wivenhoe Dam.
Construction began on the Somerset Dam in 1935, was suspended due to World War II and then resumed again in 1948. The dam was finally completed in 1959.
You are able to camp at most of the dams in South East Queensland.
At Somerset Dam is the Lake Somerset Holiday Park. We have not been at this park, so am not sure how clean and tidy or how well priced it is.
