Sea dragons are fish and are related to the sea horse. There are two different species of sea dragons: leafy sea dragons and the weedy sea dragons.
These beautiful creatures are found in shallow seas around the southern and western sores of Australia. With their flaps they look like pieces of floating seaweed.
Some of the differences between the leafy and the weedy sea dragons are:
- Leafy sea dragons: about 35 cm long, have brownish yellow bodies with greenish leaves
- Weedy sea dragons: about 46 cm long, are reddish and yellow in colour, have less leafy extensions
