With Easter just around the corner, we decided it was time to have some fun with an Easter craft. These Scratch Art Eggs can be used as decorations on the front of cards or decorations around the house.
To make your scratch art eggs, you will need:
- white card
- oil pastels
- scissors
- scratch art tools or a toothpick / golf tee would work too
First, colour the card completely with the oil pastels. Use every colour pastel except for the black. Make sure you colour every space.
Once you have completely coloured the white card in bright colours, colour over with the black pastel.
When the card is completely black, use the point of the toothpick or golf tee to scratch designs in the black crayon. The black should come off, allowing the bright colours to come through.
After your design is complete, cut your card into an egg shape. You can make small eggs or large eggs.
Glue your Scratch Art Egg onto the front of an Easter Card, or punch a hole in the top, attach a piece of ribbon and hang your egg up.
