God has created this amazing world for us to live in for a period of time. When that time ends, He would love nothing more than for us to join Him in heaven. Jesus has completed His part, now we need to do our part to receive the salvation that is on offer. Learn about the major events that Jesus went through to help us achieve salvation with this wonderful, easy-to-read book, Salvation History.
God has always intended to fellowship with mankind. But God being God, can’t allow sin or sinful beings into heaven to be with Him. Even though He knew that we would sin, God still created us, giving us a free-will.
Before creating us, He constructed a plan that would bring us back into fellowship with Him. This plan centred on Jesus paying the penalty for our sins – something we could not do ourselves. This is what we know as the death of Christ on the cross.
Salvation History
This book, Salvation History, is about the major events that God worked through to achieve the salvation of the human race. Or at least, those of the human race who want to put their faith and trust in God. It is not designed to be a theological textbook, instead it is intended to be an easy-to-read book that covers the major points that Christians need to understand. Above all, it is intended to be true to the Bible.
Salvation History has been designed to be easily used in homegroups and Bible Study circles, as it is able to be studied one chapter at a time; a chapter per meeting.
The topics covered start with God’s creation of this world and the universe, then move through the major events of the Old Testament, culminating in the birth of Jesus at Bethlehem. The book does give some special attention to the events that occurred between the Testaments – the period known as the 400 years of silence.
Though some of these events are often overlooked by many Christians, this period of silence sets the scene for the birth of Christ and is invaluable knowledge for everyone to learn.
Salvation History is divided into five parts:
- Part 1 – The Perfect Creation
- Part 2 – The Fall to the Judgement
- Part 3 – The Rise of Israel
- Part 4 – Between the Testaments
- Part 5 – Concluding Matters
This book concludes with Jesus being alive and well on Planet Earth. He has commenced His ministry which is to last for about three to three and a half years.
Salvation Future
The sequel, Salvation Future, is on the way. This book will start with Jesus on Earth, progress through His death and resurrection, and then move onto topics such as the Rapture of the Church, the Marriage of the Lamb, through to the Tribulation, the Millennium Reign of Christ on Earth and then the final chapter for the “saved” of the human race – the New Heavens and New Earth.
Jesus Christ has done everything in order for us to get to heaven. It is alarming to think that the majority of people who have ever lived, have rejected Him and all that He offers. We need to ensure that we, and our family and friends, do not make the same mistake. We need to believe in who He is and what He has done for us, so that we can join Him forever in heaven. The choice is in your hands. What are you going to choose?
About the Author
Rodney Hutcheon lives in Central Queensland Australia in a rural community with his wife, Desiree. Rodney was a career public servant prior to his retirement, working about 18 years for the Commonwealth Government and then about the same time for the Queensland State Government. Prior to retiring from the public sector, he was the Executive Director of the Rural Division for the Central Queensland Hospital & Health Service where he managed 10 rural hospitals along with other primary health care facilities.
When he retired from that position, he was the CEO of a State-wide (Queensland) Not-For-Profit Community Service organisation. He was instrumental in amalgamating three Not-For-Profit companies into one Community Service Organisation which was to eventually become a national service provider of services to the frail, aged and people with disability. He is also a qualified Justice of the Peace, as well as holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) Degree, a Graduate Certificate of Social Administration and a Doctor of Biblical Studies.
Rodney has also spent some years providing teaching and pastoral services to local churches and to a local Christian Community Radio station. He has a deep belief that all Christians should give back to the community in which they live. As a consequence of this, Rodney spent over 25 years in volunteer positions on management committees and organisational boards providing services to the aged and disabled members of our communities.
As you will have worked out, he has a special interest in community support services to people with a disability. His philosophy is that Jesus calls His followers to mission in their own “back yards”. Christians should look for opportunities to serve the less-fortunate in the communities in which they live.
Rodney describes himself as a conservative Christian who believes that the main problem that many have, is that they don’t take the Bible literally enough. “God is not hiding His truths from us. Pray for guidance as you read the Bible and simply accept what it says because that is what God intended.”

My Thoughts
This thorough, and well-thought out book is an awesome way to study God’s Word. It is written as a wonderful and informative study book which enables it to be used in a variety of settings including home groups, youth groups that consist of older teens and for groups of new believers.
Easy to understand, complete with Bible references for you to read and research, this book would also make a great gift for any believer, especially those who are new to the faith.
Taking a more literal view on the Bible, it is a wonderful resource for anyone who is interested in studying the life of Jesus, who is keen to learn more about what He went through, and how He was able to complete all the necessary steps so that each and every one of us could have eternal life.
