We have really enjoyed using the Lifetime Membership from NotebookingPages.com. It is a great way to enhance learning and create a beautiful portfolio showcasing what your child has learnt.
So what is Notebooking and how is it going to help my child?
Notebooking is a very flexible and creative way to help your child record their learning. By writing down key information, in their own words, on the topic they are studying, the information is being reinforced, your child is practicing their handwriting and they end up with a beautiful record book at the end.
NotebookingPages.com is an awesome way to start on your notebooking journey. Debra Reed, an experienced homeschool mum of ten, has created hundreds of note booking pages covering loads of different topics. But, she doesn’t just give you access to the pages and leave you wondering what to do next. On the website you will find many informative tutorials, including an EasyStart Guide, photos and videos, to help you along the way. Some of the subjects included are:
- Bible/Character
- Famous People
- Fine Arts
- Geography
- History
- Holidays
- Language Arts
- Science / Nature
The note booking pages that she has created are also available in a range of levels, catering for children from early learners all the way through to high school.
How did we go?
On the first day, the boys and I sat down and to take a look at what note booking pages we were going to choose. There were so many that we couldn’t narrow it down. As I put the boys to bed that night, they started talking about dinosaurs, and so it was. Our topic was chosen.
Our boys have been dinosaur crazy for a long time. They find them fascinating and love learning about them. It was hard for the boys to narrow down which dinosaurs they wanted to learn about, so we printed out quite a few. Then it was time to get our supplies together.
The recommended supplies are:
- A 3-ring binder per child
- Copy Paper
- Printer and Ink
- Coloured pencils, crayons, lead pencils, pens, scissors, glue
- Sheet Protectors (optional)
- Self-adhesive reinforcement labels (optional)
Our boys used a variety of materials to collect information on their chosen dinosaurs. They read many books, researched on the iPad and on their laptops finding out so much information about these huge creatures.
Then they set to work, writing down all this information in their own words.
I love the idea of using a 3 ring binder to keep your note booking pages in, though for our dinosaurs, our boys used a manilla folder and created a ‘book’ for their dinosaurs.
As part of your subscription, you will receive access to 3D pages. Included in this are components for making smaller pages (more of a lap book style) like matchbooks and mini books that you can attach to your Notebooking Pages.
The versatility of the notebooking pages included on this site is endless. With areas for drawing your own pictures / maps or gluing on ones that you find, pictures for your child to colour in, room for your child to doodle and get creative, or even be used as pages in a lap book, the options are limitless. Your child can delve as deep into the topic as they want, making your project as big or as small as you want.
Overall, we love using NotebookingPages.com. With so many topics to choose from all ready for you to pick and print at the press of a button, you will have an endless supply of homeschooling materials that your children will love. I highly recommend getting the Lifetime Membership as it will be an amazing asset to any homeschool.

That is his favourite shirt at the moment and has it on every day it is not in the wash.
