We have started our look at Italy using the package we received from the Cultural Exchange as a base for our study.

We talked about the food from Italy and one of the favourite sweets over there is Gelato.
It took me awhile to find a simple recipe that did not use an ice cream maker, as I don’t have one and am not looking at buying one either. I finally found one at The Stone Soup.
It was easy and delicious, though a little gritty.

Raspberry Gelato

Ingredients

All you need is

  • 300 g frozen raspberries
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup thickened cream

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a food processor and whizz until you have a creamy mixture, but is still soft. Taste and add extra sugar if needed.
  • You can eat as is, or freeze for a few hours and then enjoy.

Notes

(I used pure cream and it turned out fine)
